XL Talent has been in the business of Artist and Producer/Writer management since it was founded in the mid-1980s.

 

Managing a roster of established and emerging producers, these include some of the most respected and internationally successful writing and producer teams around today, covering a spectrum of musical genres. 

 

The Team

Mike Box

CEO

Mike has over 30 years of experience in the music industry in a career that started at WEA Records in 1982 before moving to PRT in 1987. He subsequently spent 5 years with Sonet Records & Publishing looking after the copyrights and international licensing of Depeche Mode, Erasure and Nick Cave amongst others. In 1995 he joined independent label China Records working with acts such as Morcheeba and the Levellers. In 1999 Mike joined XL Talent and Reverb Music overseeing the operations and finances of both organisations. Mike is a director of the Music Publishers Association and a founding member and board director of IMPEL (Independent Music Publishers E-Licensing).

Jordan Jay and Ross Gautreau (Karma Artists)

Creative/A&R

Jordan and Ross have successfully looked after the creative and A&R aspect of XL’s roster since 2012.

 

Jordan spent 7 years as a Senior A&R Executive for Universal Music forming bands such as The Saturdays and The Wanted and developing the careers of artists including Girls Aloud, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Cover Drive. To date, Jordan has amassed over 40 top 10 singles and 5 UK number 1’s with the artists he has worked with.

 

Ross worked for ASCAP for 6 years building relationships with a wide variety songwriters and artists including Dan Wilson, Fraser T Smith, Eg White, Calvin Harris, Florence and the Machine, Taio Cruz and Scouting for Girls. Ross has also worked with Fairwood Music, Epic Records and Polydor Records in an A&R capacity.

Rachel Meyrick

Head of Business Affairs

Rachel has been working in the music industry for over 25 years, starting with Festival Records in New Zealand, before joining Acid Jazz Records in London in the mid 90’s.  Initially working in the royalties department, Rachel moved into Business Affairs and completed a Law Degree, subsequently specialising in UK & International Copyright Law.  Having worked for majors and indies, labels and publishers Rachel joined XL Talent and Reverb Music in 2000.

 

Rachel is passionate about supporting her clients, and is a fountain of knowledge about music copyright and the mechanics of controlled compositions.
